Keeping Your Car Clean On A Budget

Sometimes, it’s incredibly difficult to keep a car clean. Wether your stresses are kids, pets, or simply not enough time, we hope to provide you with some useful ideas on how to keep your car clean.

The best way to keep your car clean is to utilize deals from online coupons Weber County.

Kids can wreak havoc on a vehicle. Sticky hands, spilled snacks and drinks as well as dirty feet are the enemies of cars. Hopefully, you have a light colored leather upholstery that is easy to wipe down and doesn’t show dirt. If not, then consider investing in some seat covers. You may find a good deal for these when you shop for online coupons Davis County.

Pets can be another challenge if you want a clean car. Dog hair, muddy paw prints and slobbery windows can leave a car looking grimy and smelling, well, questionable. Get good deals on air fresheners when you buy them in bulk, and make sure you cover your seats. A weekly or monthly vacuum will take care of the dog hair and allergens too.

Even if you don’t have children or pets, many of us prefer to spend our leisure time doing something besides washing a car. Here are some helpful tips that can keep your car clean daily, without having to spend a ton of time.

  • Take everything with you when you get out of your car. This prevents buildup of garbage, coffee cups and other essentials.
  • Keep a plastic shopping bag attached to your shifter so you can easily keep trash in one place and dispose of it in less than a second.
  • Don’t be afraid to ask personnel at drive through windows to please throw things away for you. They are happy to do it.
  • Keep extra air fresheners in your glove box.

May Your Slumber be Infused with Peppermint Dreams

Last night, my olfactory senses had the pleasure to process the heavenly scent of a Scentsy “Peppermint Dreams” scented candle. Because I have had the privilege to join Scentsy and peddle their wares throughout these United States I have been offered the rare opportunity to take into my body the most heavenly scents someone who has not joined Scentsy might only dream about. But by far the most heavenly of all the scents my olfactory senses have had the pleasure to process is the scent of Peppermint Dreams.

Taking in this scent through my nostrils charges my spirit with the crisp infusion that only the sent of peppermint can provide. At first there is a sting that bites the interior walls of my proboscis. This sting is quickly followed by an inviting sensation that reminds me of warm cabins with roaring fires in their hearth creating a snug oasis in the middle of a dark, frozen forest. Then I am made aware of a sweetness to this scent that wells within me giving rise to a supple glow of contentment radiating unto the extremities of my body.

I then am faced with a choice. Do I now sit back and relax with this sensation. Do I sink into the depths of the plush cushions of my couch and bask in the splendor of my Peppermint Dream? Or do I take this grand experience out into the world and interact with all the possibilities it has to offer? Frankly, either choice is both equally inviting and rewarding. Such is the splendor that I have experienced ever since I made the fateful choice to join Scentsy. Such is the splendor that I have experienced ever since I lit my Peppermint Dreams candle and allowed its essence to infuse my being.

May my experience be yours and may your nights be ever populated with Peppermint Dreams.

Wedding Train of Thought

There are many options for wedding venues in Salt Lake City. When I think of wedding venues I am reminded of the wedding of my cousin and his now wife I attended last summer in St. Augustine, Florida. The venue was a banquet hall next to a marina. The couple was married by another cousin of mine who received a license to perform the marriage. The legal grant of authority was limited to that particular ceremony on that particular date. The ceremony took place outside on a patio by the water in the early evening just before sunset. Halfway through the ceremony a weather front swept through and my cousin performing the wedding suggested moving the festivities inside. Once everyone reassembled inside the storm arrived and a heavy, driving rain fell from the sky. We could see all this through the floor to ceiling glass windows behind the couple.

After the ceremony, dinner was served buffet style in the adjoining room. The wedding was a family reunion of sorts. My cousin’s father (my uncle) seemed cold and distant to me. I am not sure what I had done to offend him but it seems as if I had done something. I found the situation kind of annoying. I was never particularly close to this uncle so I did not care if he was angry with me on that level. But I have this character trait where it triggers me if I know another person is angry with me. I suppose that was passed down to me from my parents. I avoided him for the rest of the night. At one point we were sitting at the same table and he was recounting his recent trip to Turkey. Under normal circumstances I would have been interested as I have always wanted to visit Istanbul being a Roman History buff. But I got up and walked away.

Anyway, this is what I think about when trying to come up with an article on wedding venues in Salt Lake City.

Is That a Snow Flake in The Air?

Winterization dos and don'tsAs it happens every year, winter comes after fall. While many of us be look forward to the season for the holidays and the expectancy of winter sports, we also sometimes forget to prepare equipment for the coming season as well. Most call this winterization. Several different aspects of a person’s life actually need winterization. We need to get our winter clothes swapped out with our summer clothes, bathing suits for snow suits; pipes under or outside of the house need to be take care of to hold off any freezing; cars need to be serviced and even our lawn or farm equipment needs to be taken care of. Whether you’re simply preparing your house for the winter or getting your outdoors equipment prepared for the season long nap, preparations should be made on all fronts. Here are a few key areas and tips

Indoors:
1) Slowly acclimate your house. While the climate does not always help you with this type of preparation due to strong temperature changes at times, it’s still beneficial if you can begin to lower the temperature in the house or begin early on to drop the AC and allow your body to acclimate as the “true” temperature shifts.

2) Clear the way… Clear out the vents for your heaters, chimneys, and stoves. Be sure to dust off any of your radiators or portable heating devices as well to ensure that an unexpected heat source doesn’t suddenly erupt! Even Salt Lake City Cleaning Services can help you if you are unable to get to some of the areas to clean them up or clear them out.

Outdoors:
1) Pipes! Make sure pipes are properly prepared. For sprinklers, they should all be blown out while faucets and other pipes should either be turned off, insulated, or buried below the freeze line in the ground.

2) Prepare for unwanted visitors, and no, we’re not talking about the in-laws. As temperatures drop rodents and pests begin to look for warmer areas in which to nest and reside. Be prepared ahead of time by sealing any cracks or holes through which they may enter the house. Keep firewood about 20 feet from the house so that any critters that decide to build a home there are away from the house. Also, be sure to try to keep areas clean as it’s a lot harder for pets to hide if there’s no place for them to do so.

3) Check your outdoor equipment. Whether it’s simply being sure that you have a working snow shovel and rake or preparing such equipment as a farm tractor, baler belts, or lawn mowers, each piece needs to be handled correctly. It’s always best to check with the manufacturer to determine what their recommended winterization methods are; however, the important piece is to check. Realize each piece of equipment or supply is different and may require very different methods in order to work optimally after the winter season. Be sure you have the supplies you’ll need and then be sure what you do have is prepared for the long hibernation.

Get ready for Jack Frost to come our way this winter, but not to worry. If you follow the tips above, you should be in great shape to have a warm house with the safety and freedom from danger and unwanted creatures that will help your winter be just what you want it to be…. Magic!

How To Make Your First Apartment Experience Magical

nolan aparmtent interiorGetting an apartment can be a daunting task, whether it’s your first time getting out of the house or your downsizing from house to an apartment.  Often times those that have rented an apartment look back on the experience and realize there were definitely some things that could have saved some extra work and worry. With that in mind, we want to help choosing your first apartment as magical an experience as possible.

What’s included? Always seek further into what exactly you’re paying for.

There’s nothing worse than being shown around the perfect apartment, fully equipped with a washer, dryer, dishwasher you name it.. Then moving in day comes, only to realise the last tenants took those with them. No one wants to pay out a bunch for the deposit, only to have to go and spend a bomb on what they thought they already had. This goes for bills too, make sure to check what’s included in the rent. You may jump at the chance of unrealistic cheap rent and think you’ve got a good’un , to then receive added on utility bills.

Setting a budget.

It’s suggested that no one spends over 35% of their monthly income on rent. Work out 35% of your income and start looking for apartments, at least then you know that anything over your worked out amount may be a stretch. Like above, don’t forget to look into exactly what’s included in the advertised rent, if utilities such as water and electricity aren’t included, make sure to take those into account too. Work out your new monthly expenditures and see if it’s affordable for you.

apartment_luxury-interiorWhat to search for – Narrowing down your search.

You should always start with a rough distance, whether you’re wanting to be closer to your parents house, school or work, it’ll help you narrow down your search for your perfect apartment. Think about whether you need a pet friendly apartment, laundry facilities or free parking. If this is going to be long term housing for you, thinking ahead at all of these points should make life a whole lot easier for you right from the start!

Knowing the in and outs and your rights.

Before you sign a lease or contract, make sure to read it more than once to make sure you really understand the conditions you’re agreeing to. Ask for a copy of rules and regulations to keep in case you need to go back on them later. Realize that different types of apartments have very different leases. For example if you are looking for student housing, the Weber State housing you choose may have a very different lease than a standard apartment complex. Here are a few things that are absolutely essential to know about before signing the lease;

  • The beginning and the expiration date
  • The rental price and information about your security deposit
  • The reasons for which your landlord can terminate your lease contract
  • Are there any penalties for moving out of your apartment before the expiration date?
  • Are there any responsibilities on your head for repairs and such?
  • Is subletting allowed?
  • See if you have to buy renters insurance
  • Is there a policy about guest visitors?

Inspect the apartment.

Yes, the apartment may look great, but it’s the hidden details you have to look out for. Whilst you’re viewing apartments, don’t just look, touch! Open draws, cupboards, doors, windows, anything! Try turning on taps, flushing toilets, turning on appliances and checking pipes. Notice a door coming off its hinges? Or windows not quite sealed properly? ..Write it down. It seems a little obsessive, but its little things like this that will be checked at the end of your lease, and may lead to you losing your deposit or paying for damages. Make sure to tell the landlord before you move in, so he can either fix them or keep them on file, as not to charge you for them later on.

It’s not all about the money though. Also make sure you check the noise levels, especially if you’re a student that’ll need to focus or just someone who enjoys a bit of peace and quiet. It’ll help you out in the long run. If you need further insight into what to look for, you can find out more at Apartment Guide.

If you stick with these points, you’ll be on your way to a magical experience in your very own first apartment, Good Luck!

Increase The Resale Value Of Your Home With A New Paint Job

Exterior Paint Magic

House Painting in Summit CountyThinking of selling your house this season? This is a daunting task, but with a little know how, you can get the most money for your house. The first thing you need to think about it curb appeal. How does your house look from the street? Many buyers will walk away at first sight if your house is not a shining, inviting and picturesque dwelling. Curb appeal has to do with landscaping and the overall look of the house. If your house has peeling paint, or is painted an unseemly color, you are probably not going to attract very many buyers. Enlisting the help of a fantastic roofing contractor in Park City is a good way to start increasing the value of your home, before you put it on the market.

Traditional Paint Jobs

The good old stand by is a warm beige color with bright white trim. A natural looking door completes this effect. This color scheme is easy on the eyes, and helps a home blend into any neighborhood. If you really need a splash of color add a little decorative trim somewhere but not too much. Additional outdoor light fixtures will also help your curb appeal in a conservative way.

Standing Out Just A Little

For a modern and artistic look in a conservative and quiet neighborhood, try varying the shades of one color. Use the lightest variant for the house color, a darker version for the trim and a complementary color for the door.

Modern And Exciting

If your neighborhood is a few clicks away from the standard cookie cutter suburban scene, go ahead and try this color scheme on for size. A stark white house color with white trim. However, paint your shutters grey, lavender, or blue, and give the door a fresh color pop. Make sure the door is complementary to the shutter color however. We can save the outrageous paint jobs for the outrageous neighborhoods.

Garden Magic For Small Spaces

Not all of us are lucky enough to have large, sunny backyards or garden plots available. Still, ample space should not be a limiting factor for anyone wishing to exercise a green thumb. Even if you live in a small apartment or shared dormitory room, there are plenty of ways a college student can get a few plants growing.

Container Gardening For University Students

This is the best way to keep your garden plants portable and in a controlled environment. Container gardens can be made out of anything. They can also be moved when the sun shines in through different windows. Terra cotta plant pots, old buckets, even large plastic yogurt containers can be made into little plant homes. Be sure to add drainage, then fill with soil and your seeds and voila! You have a personal garden plant ideal for small spaces.

Terraced or Tiered Gardens

small space gardensIf you have a small amount of space, but sill desire a high yielding crop, look into tiered garden ideas. You can buy an apparatus or build one yourself with a few planks of wood and a good plan. Tiered gardens are basically stairs with dirt inside them. They can be fashioned in many different ways, depending on your spacial parameters and stylistic needs.

Get A Grow Light For Your Weber State Housing

Many times, the most limiting factor for a successful apartment garden is available light. Especially in a basement apartment, light has a hard time entering the space with enough intensity to produce a healthy growing environment for most plants. Investing  in a plant light bulb, or a full grow light apparatus will increase your success immensely.
