“Cleaning Service Salt Lake City”

Vera needed a job but possessed a limited skill set. The only work experience she had was that of a housekeeper at a hotel in another state. She went to the library in downtown Salt Lake City and used the computer to log on to the job search website indeed.com. When the website came up she entered the search terms “cleaning service salt lake city.” Several links appeared and she clicked on the top one. The link brought her to the website of a local cleaning service and she then clicked on the “careers” button located in the upper right corner of the screen.

Once there she was prompted to answer a few questions. The first question asked if she was authorized to work in the United States. Vera was a full citizen so there was no problem there. The next question asked if she was at least eighteen years old. Vera sighed because she was well over that age. The next question asked if she had a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Luckily Vera had always prided herself on being a very safe driver. The next question asked if she had reliable transportation. She smiled. Her car was not pretty but it still got her where she needed to go. Finally the website asked her if she had verifiable work references. Fortunately, she had left her previous job on good terms and she knew her supervisor would vouch for her character.

There were a few other questions regarding her address and contact information which she answered before submitting the form. She then went back to indeed.com and retyped the search terms “cleaning service salt lake city.” There were a few other links to other services and they all wanted basically the same information. Vera left the library with hope as it seemed there were several positions available.

May Your Slumber be Infused with Peppermint Dreams

Last night, my olfactory senses had the pleasure to process the heavenly scent of a Scentsy “Peppermint Dreams” scented candle. Because I have had the privilege to join Scentsy and peddle their wares throughout these United States I have been offered the rare opportunity to take into my body the most heavenly scents someone who has not joined Scentsy might only dream about. But by far the most heavenly of all the scents my olfactory senses have had the pleasure to process is the scent of Peppermint Dreams.

Taking in this scent through my nostrils charges my spirit with the crisp infusion that only the sent of peppermint can provide. At first there is a sting that bites the interior walls of my proboscis. This sting is quickly followed by an inviting sensation that reminds me of warm cabins with roaring fires in their hearth creating a snug oasis in the middle of a dark, frozen forest. Then I am made aware of a sweetness to this scent that wells within me giving rise to a supple glow of contentment radiating unto the extremities of my body.

I then am faced with a choice. Do I now sit back and relax with this sensation. Do I sink into the depths of the plush cushions of my couch and bask in the splendor of my Peppermint Dream? Or do I take this grand experience out into the world and interact with all the possibilities it has to offer? Frankly, either choice is both equally inviting and rewarding. Such is the splendor that I have experienced ever since I made the fateful choice to join Scentsy. Such is the splendor that I have experienced ever since I lit my Peppermint Dreams candle and allowed its essence to infuse my being.

May my experience be yours and may your nights be ever populated with Peppermint Dreams.

Maid Services Utah – How to Clean Six Common Types of Hard Floors

Have you ever wondered if the cleaner you use to clean your floors is actually recommended for that floor type?  If you haven’t hired a house cleaning Utah service, here are 6 common types of hard floors, and how to clean them!

Most people hire house cleaning Salt Lake City services, so that they don’t have to deal with cleaning their floors.  If you haven’t made the plunge to outsource your floor cleaning duties to a cleaning service Salt Lake City, here’s a quick list of six common types of hard floors, and how to clean them!

  1. Laminate:laminate-flooring-1

The good news is that laminate floors are very resilient.  You do, however, want to make sure that water is not able to get underneath the planks.  To clean laminate floors you will want to vacuum or dry mop, and then spot clean with a damp microfiber mop.

  1. Hardwood Floor:01-hardwood-floors

Sealed wood floors are typically protected from stains and water damage, but you want to steer clear of acidic solutions which can dull the floor over time.  You can use a simple pH neutral soap with some water to clean, but you will want to use a dry microfiber mop to wipe up any excess moisture.

If you do have a waxed wood floor, you will want to avoid any moisture including damp mops.  Just make sure these floors are vacuumed or dry mopped regularly to keep dust and dirt from damaging the surface.

  1. Bamboo Floor:bamboo

Bamboo flooring is a beautiful and sustainable option, but it does come at a slightly higher cost.  For this reason, you want to make sure that you keep dirt swept up regularly to prevent damage.  You can use the same technique to clean bamboo floors that you use to clean sealed hardwood floors.

3. Linoleum Floorforbo-marmoleum-neutral

Linoleum and vinyl are often used interchangeably, but true linoleum is made from linseed oil, limestone, resin, wood fiber, and cork dust.  It is then colored with mineral pigments.  Mix up a spray bottle of a small amount of dish soap and hot water.  Spray small sections of the floor and wipe down with a microfiber mop.

  1. Vinyl FloorVinyl-Flooring-Roll

Vinyl is extremely resilient, and nearly indestructible.  You can clean vinyl floors in sections using a spray bottle with ¼ cup vinegar, one drop of dish soap, and the rest water.  Spray and wipe with a dry microfiber as you go.  You can also use a steam cleaner to remove tough stains and sanitize vinyl floors.

  1. Natural Stone FloorTile-Orlando1

Be very careful what chemicals or products you allow to touch your natural stone floors.  Even a small amount of vinegar, bleach, or ammonia could cause irreversible damage.  Mop sealed floors with a pH-neutral, non-chelating cleaner, which won’t react negatively to natural minerals.

If your stone tiles are unsealed, only mop them with a microfiber mop and hot water or a steam cleaner to prevent chemicals from penetrating the stone.

How To Make Your First Apartment Experience Magical

nolan aparmtent interiorGetting an apartment can be a daunting task, whether it’s your first time getting out of the house or your downsizing from house to an apartment.  Often times those that have rented an apartment look back on the experience and realize there were definitely some things that could have saved some extra work and worry. With that in mind, we want to help choosing your first apartment as magical an experience as possible.

What’s included? Always seek further into what exactly you’re paying for.

There’s nothing worse than being shown around the perfect apartment, fully equipped with a washer, dryer, dishwasher you name it.. Then moving in day comes, only to realise the last tenants took those with them. No one wants to pay out a bunch for the deposit, only to have to go and spend a bomb on what they thought they already had. This goes for bills too, make sure to check what’s included in the rent. You may jump at the chance of unrealistic cheap rent and think you’ve got a good’un , to then receive added on utility bills.

Setting a budget.

It’s suggested that no one spends over 35% of their monthly income on rent. Work out 35% of your income and start looking for apartments, at least then you know that anything over your worked out amount may be a stretch. Like above, don’t forget to look into exactly what’s included in the advertised rent, if utilities such as water and electricity aren’t included, make sure to take those into account too. Work out your new monthly expenditures and see if it’s affordable for you.

apartment_luxury-interiorWhat to search for – Narrowing down your search.

You should always start with a rough distance, whether you’re wanting to be closer to your parents house, school or work, it’ll help you narrow down your search for your perfect apartment. Think about whether you need a pet friendly apartment, laundry facilities or free parking. If this is going to be long term housing for you, thinking ahead at all of these points should make life a whole lot easier for you right from the start!

Knowing the in and outs and your rights.

Before you sign a lease or contract, make sure to read it more than once to make sure you really understand the conditions you’re agreeing to. Ask for a copy of rules and regulations to keep in case you need to go back on them later. Realize that different types of apartments have very different leases. For example if you are looking for student housing, the Weber State housing you choose may have a very different lease than a standard apartment complex. Here are a few things that are absolutely essential to know about before signing the lease;

  • The beginning and the expiration date
  • The rental price and information about your security deposit
  • The reasons for which your landlord can terminate your lease contract
  • Are there any penalties for moving out of your apartment before the expiration date?
  • Are there any responsibilities on your head for repairs and such?
  • Is subletting allowed?
  • See if you have to buy renters insurance
  • Is there a policy about guest visitors?

Inspect the apartment.

Yes, the apartment may look great, but it’s the hidden details you have to look out for. Whilst you’re viewing apartments, don’t just look, touch! Open draws, cupboards, doors, windows, anything! Try turning on taps, flushing toilets, turning on appliances and checking pipes. Notice a door coming off its hinges? Or windows not quite sealed properly? ..Write it down. It seems a little obsessive, but its little things like this that will be checked at the end of your lease, and may lead to you losing your deposit or paying for damages. Make sure to tell the landlord before you move in, so he can either fix them or keep them on file, as not to charge you for them later on.

It’s not all about the money though. Also make sure you check the noise levels, especially if you’re a student that’ll need to focus or just someone who enjoys a bit of peace and quiet. It’ll help you out in the long run. If you need further insight into what to look for, you can find out more at Apartment Guide.

If you stick with these points, you’ll be on your way to a magical experience in your very own first apartment, Good Luck!

Increase The Resale Value Of Your Home With A New Paint Job

Exterior Paint Magic

House Painting in Summit CountyThinking of selling your house this season? This is a daunting task, but with a little know how, you can get the most money for your house. The first thing you need to think about it curb appeal. How does your house look from the street? Many buyers will walk away at first sight if your house is not a shining, inviting and picturesque dwelling. Curb appeal has to do with landscaping and the overall look of the house. If your house has peeling paint, or is painted an unseemly color, you are probably not going to attract very many buyers. Enlisting the help of a fantastic roofing contractor in Park City is a good way to start increasing the value of your home, before you put it on the market.

Traditional Paint Jobs

The good old stand by is a warm beige color with bright white trim. A natural looking door completes this effect. This color scheme is easy on the eyes, and helps a home blend into any neighborhood. If you really need a splash of color add a little decorative trim somewhere but not too much. Additional outdoor light fixtures will also help your curb appeal in a conservative way.

Standing Out Just A Little

For a modern and artistic look in a conservative and quiet neighborhood, try varying the shades of one color. Use the lightest variant for the house color, a darker version for the trim and a complementary color for the door.

Modern And Exciting

If your neighborhood is a few clicks away from the standard cookie cutter suburban scene, go ahead and try this color scheme on for size. A stark white house color with white trim. However, paint your shutters grey, lavender, or blue, and give the door a fresh color pop. Make sure the door is complementary to the shutter color however. We can save the outrageous paint jobs for the outrageous neighborhoods.

5 Magic Ways To Make Winter Fun

For some, winter is one of the most beautiful times of the year.  For others, it’s a dreaded time, filled with the family stuck indoors for too long, arguing ensuing and all around misery happening.  It certainly doesn’t have to be that way.  Whether you love the cold or hate it, here are 5 magic ways to make winter fun.

  1. Try to take advantage of the cold.  Even if you may not like the cold, often times having fun in the cold will take your mind off of the cold itself.  Taking the time to try sledding, skiing, ice skating or even building a snow fort can make the winter not only bearable but also very enjoyable.  This is especially true for children as they almost always love to have fun in the snow or on the ice.  Whether they’re getting to see the lake frozen over, or playing out an Avengers battle with their own forts and snowballs, kids need to be allowed to enjoy winter outdoors when possible.
  2. Don’t want to battle the cold?  Stay in for a family movie night.  Take the time to go out and get the candy, popcorn, and soda and rent a movie that you haven’t seen or just want to enjoy again.  Cuddle up in the living room with the family and enjoy a night in.  There’s nothing like the fresh smell of popcorn to help you enjoy the movie and make the cold weather outside into an adventure.
  3. Are you more of a baker?  How about having a little bake-a-thon with the kids.  Allow them to take part in mixing batter, rolling it out, and cutting out the cookies.  Really turn it into a great night of philanthropy by making cookies for others.  Pick out some great shapes, cookie flavors, or decorations and go to town making cookies both to have at your house and to take and give to someone else.  Make even better by doing it outside of the holiday when others are normally getting cookies.
  4. Kick back for an “old fashioned night” and just have a reading night.  Have everyone grab their favorite books and you can either take turns reading out of your book to everyone, so that all those gathered can benefit from what each other is reading, or center it on one book or story that you either read aloud or you pass around to be read.  Go a step further and give each person a role from the book that they can transform into and act out the story as it’s read.
  5. Do you still have too much energy running through the veins (especially with kiddos?).  Through on the music and have a dance party.  If it’s to chilly to burn of the energy outside, let the music play and everyone just let themselves go to enjoy the craziness that can be had by just letting your hair down.  Don’t worry about being professionals, just enjoy getting a little crazy together.  Take a step further by planning a routine together – whether it be silly or serious.  Take the time and come up with the routine, practice it, and then perform it.

With the 5 magical steps above, the winter blues can be evaded and held off. There’s no need to be afraid of winter with such fun ways to make it more enjoyable for everyone.  Looking for more activities?  Try https://www.pinterest.com/binspiredmama/winterfun-for-kids/.
